What to Expect

As a traditional cabin camp, Explorers offers young campers a safe environment to grow and develop their relationships with God. A full week of outdoor activities lets kids experience God’s creation while learning Biblical truths. Golden Bell counselors provide guidance and encouragement throughout the week. Remember to stay hydrated! Your body needs more water at this elevation so bring a water bottle (32oz/1 liter recommended). Combining fun with learning, Explorers is a fast-paced camp that will lead kids to deepen their relationships with God.
Accommodations

Explorers will stay in Golden Bell’s cozy cabins at Ponderosa or High Chaparral. These quaint cabins are furnished with bunk beds and limited shelving for personal items. Pack warm pajamas and sleeping bag because most cabins do not have heating units. Bath-houses are easily accessible to all cabins and include showers for camper convenience. Meals are served in the lodge by kitchen staff.
Daily Chapel

Morning devotions will be led by counselors or coordinators and include upbeat songs with lots of motions. After kids get moving, camp leaders will deliver the day’s message. Age-appropriate themes are designed to deepen kids’ relationships with God. In addition to morning chapel times, kids will experience an evening speaker who will deliver a short message after dinner. Counselors are always available to talk to kids one-on-one and answer spiritual questions. They will also lead nightly devotions when kids head to bed.
Activities

Group and team activities are planned to reinforce the spiritual themes introduced in chapel. Outdoor games channel kids’ energy to ball games, water games, optional horseback riding, and much more! In addition, kids will get to try camp elements like the indoor rock wall and swimming pool. Excursions to the “Snack Shack” allow kids to purchase a variety of cool drinks, candy, ice cream, crackers and chips. On Friday, all campers will have an opportunity to shop in the camp gift shop. (The recommended spending amount for Snack Shack and Gift Shop is $20.)
