Counselor In Training

Program Dates for 2025: June 1-August 2

Mission: To raise up young Christian leaders to impact the world with the Gospel through intentional discipleship, hands-on ministry training, biblical teaching, and real-life Gospel application in a Christian camp setting.

Vision: Our 9-week Counselors in Training (CIT) program empowers teens to grow in faith and deepen their relationship with Jesus. Through hands-on training, biblical teaching, and community, we cultivate passionate disciples who serve, lead, and reflect Christ's love in everyday life. Description: We take Jesus’ command to make disciples in Matthew 28 seriously. To that end, we believe that all Christians are called to both be and make disciples. Our Teens in Action Program invites high school age students to come and experience hands-on ministry as well as being intentionally discipled by staff and our college-age Counselors in Training leaders. Throughout the summer CIT will participate in daily devotionals and Biblical study with their CIT Leaders. At the commencement of the summer, each CIT participant will identify, in writing, goals for their time here at Golden Bell. These will include personal, professional, leadership, and spiritual goals. These will be revisited often as the summer progresses. This encourages active faith and accountability in our camp community setting. The main responsibility in their leadership development will be to help plan and facilitate our Day Camp Program. This allows them to gain experience in interacting with campers, leading small groups, and becoming comfortable sharing the Gospel with children. While this will be the majority of their hands-on learning, by the close of the summer each CIT will have had the opportunity to experience hands-on training in each department here at Golden Bell including programming, maintenance, housekeeping, and kitchen.
